Before Pregnancy, During and Forever After

BLANQI girl gallery

Boo Sracic :“I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible the high performance tank top by Blanqi is.  I am almost sad I didn’t have it the first two pregnancies because it has made a world of difference and I believe it has made my back feel considerably better.  The last few weeks I have really had a major growth spurt, discomfort, and lower back pain….sciatic pain to be specific and it has helped me tons!

The tank top and the leggings are extremely well lined and easy to move in, yet thick enough to not be see through which is important when wearing leggings!  With wearing the leggings and tank top together, I have gotten major relief and feel support in my lower back and hips.  It feels like a second skin on me being active and chasing after Ava-Marie and Bella all day keeps me extremely busy if you could imagine.  I also love the extra length it has on it for support and coverage it gives.  I am feeling pretty spoiled in these and when I took them off at the end of the day, I felt such a huge difference and I’m pretty sure I will be living in this tank top for the remainder of my pregnancy.  If you don’t have their tank top or leggings, it is well worth the investment during your pregnancy and post delivery.”

10 Ways to wear a BLANQI maternity underbust support tank

From Sabina & Valerie – “Before BLANQI, ‘maternity support’ was something that sounded a little creepy, looked even scarier (think Velcro and plastic), and was often only suggested to high-risk pregnant women as an option. But WE needed the help with the aches and pains of pregnancy. What we wanted was something that could smooth and secure the added weight gain in a way that was wearable, could be worn out in public, supported the belly so our backs and belly stopped aching from the added weight, and versatile enough that we didn’t have to invest in a huge new maternity wardrobe that we would only wear for 9 months. So we created what has become our signature Bodystyler® Belly Support line – As it turns out, we were not the only pregnant gals craving some extra support.”  Check out these 10 ways to wear BLANQI maternity underbust support tank –

Katie of Loves of Life – “This sucker has a built in support band that helps my back issues significantly. I used this while we traveled the coast and walked all those miles, and I truly think it’s one of the reasons I survived. You can even use the tank to hide un-buttoned pants…The tank top grows with you, for sure, but keeps your belly looking cute and round. The moisture-wicking fabric makes it a great addition to your workout gear, along with that support to keep your back in check, it’s a winning gym combo. On the backside there’s even x-shaped back anchors that lift and support the extra pregnancy pounds, lessening the stress on your back.”

Gaelyn Jenkins of My Corner View – “the secret is my Blanqi support tank that works 500 million times better than a belly band, so even at 30 weeks I can still wear non maternity.

Laura from A Little Bit of Lacquer – “I’ve been loving this BLANQI support tank the last few weeks! I paired it with real maternity pants here, but usually I wear it with my non-maternity jeans unbuttoned – it holds them up better than the belly bands I was using earlier in the pregnancy! It also lifts up my belly (which is such a relief when I’m walking as baby girl has this belly hanging lower and lower each day). On top of all that, it wraps under my bra letting me wear whatever cut shirt I want and giving the girls an extra lift! Bonus: N thinks it’s sexy. I can’t say the same for the belly bands hahaha! I’m in love and truly think this tank has made these last few weeks a little bit easier.”

Brittany of The Lily Field “I own two Blanqi maternity under-bust belly support tanks. I just don’t do “pregnant” without one. Makes me feel all smooth and supported. It’s like a party for my body!!! I mean very seriously, wearing my Blanqi reminds me that I am still ME – that I can still look and feel great even if things are getting larger than life around here! Can’t say enough good things.
Tell all the pregnant, post-partum mommas!”

Sparkling Footsteps – “The best support tank that you will want to wear under everything you own. Seriously, the best.”

gifts that give back

I love giving gifts, but what I love even more is a gift that keeps giving.  There is no better time than Christmas to do good – as author Washington Irvin said, “Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.”  And so, we have rounded up a few of our favorite charitable gifts that give back:

1 – Symbolic Animal Adoption – A $55.00 symbolic adoption supports WWFs global efforts to protect wild animals and their habitats.  Choose your favorite animal and recieve a plush version of it, accompanied by an adoption certificate, a species card, and a WWF gift tote.  Not only will your little one receive an adorable toy, but will also learn about animal conservation, and caring for our planet.  It’s a win-win in my book!  Find your favorite here

2 – Black Striped Basket – This basket is made by a group of 30 women for whom basket-making has become increasingly important in the past years, as crops have been destroyed by elephants migrating through their fields to the Tsovo East National Park.  Far and Wide Collective partners with super talented artisans in post-conflict and emerging countries, providing them with a platform to reach the international market, promoting the growth of a more sustainable infrastructure of these communities.  $70.00

3 – Tiny Brass Cube earrings – by Nisolo, a company who, according to their website, “want to do fashion in a way that connects and benefits both consumers and producers. We operate a hand-up model that empowers makers in emerging economies by connecting them to the global marketplace in a responsible manner.”  What’s better that a gorgeous pair of delicate earrings that not only look good, but do good!  $34.00

4 – Horn Line Ring – Brought to you by Soko, another forward thinking company connecting and training artisans, who are mostly women,  in emerging markets with the global marketplace, helping to drive local economic development.  $54.00

5 – Porcupine Naibor Earrings – Tanzania.  Another beauty brought to you by Far and Wide Collective.  $55.00

6 – Vacuum Insulated Bottle (17oz, 23oz) – $28.00.  Every bottle purchased helps give one person in need clean water for one year.  Made by Miir, who “redesigned a timeless object with the mission to provide clean water to those without. Through this we have built wells, started a bicycle line providing transportation locally and globally, and we continue with a bag line empowering education.”

7 – Benedict the Bunnie by Cuddle + kind – $55.00 – adorable, handcrafted, knit dolls that help feed children in need.  For every cuddle+kind doll you purchase, they will provide 10 meals to children in need through their partners World Food Program USA* andChildren’s Hunger Fund.  ( Due to the overwhelming demand, their dolls won’t ship until the end of January)

8 – Friendship Pouch – this $25.00 bag by FEED provides 10 school meals for children around the world.  Doing good and looking good?  That’s twice as nice if you ask us! 😉

“My body responds to pregnancy like a grandma. My back aches because when my entire core is not strong, I’m a hot mess in that department…When I discovered the maternity supportwear at Blanqi I am pretty sure I did a little happy dance. Their stuff looked amazing, people raved about it, and I was dying to get my hands on some Belly Support Leggings…This sucker has a built in support band that helps my back issues significantly. I used this while we traveled the coast and walked all those miles, and I truly think it’s one of the reasons I survived”

Before Pregnancy, During and Forever After

Get the maternity version // Olivia Palermo’s army green

Though perhaps better known as the girl-you-love-to-hate on MTV’s show The City, socialite Olivia Palermo has, like all of us, grown up and is nowadays focusing on setting fashion trends as opposed to playing Whitney’s nemesis 😉  We DO love her style, and here is how you can pull off the maternity version of Olivia Palermo’s army green –  the ultimate in comfort chic, pregnant and all!

How to get the look:

BLANQI Maternity Belly Support Tank – This tank is anything but basic, because, let’s face it, basic is not what pregnancy calls for.  Highly technical design with varying degrees of compression delivers maximum lift, stability and support. Features a heavier weight, moisture-wicking, breathable fabric. Sturdy enough for working out, yet soft and comfy for all day wear. Wear it – when you want to look and feel amazing!

2.  H&M Men’s skinny low jeans –  Though there’s plenty of girlfriend and boyfriend denim out there, as our waistline expands, there’s nothing comfier than a pair of loose-fitting jeans.  Wear them with a BLANQI maternity tank to avoid having to wear a belt, and to keep them in place as you go about your day (totally sag-proof ;))

3.  Arricci ‘Joleen’ Slip On Oxford  Love oxfords but hate bending over to tie them?  Aricci’s slip-ons are perfect for you and your growing bump – just slide your feet in and go, and kick them off at the end of the day.  Perfection!

4.  Alexander Wang “Mini-Rockie Pale Gold” – The compact version of the popular Rockie satchel, done in a fresh, winter-white hue and supple, grained leather. Rolled top handles, an adjustable crossbody strap and just-right interior make the style as convenient as it is covetable – available on

5.  JCrew field mechanic jacket  – With temperatures dropping, we love the idea of swapping the army shirt for this super cute cotton jacket.  Throw on over your layers for a city-meets-safari chic.get the look (1)

With the chilly weather already being here, we love the idea of layering with a boyfriend cardigan like this oatmeal heather one from the Gap.  You can always layer on top as well with something like this slouchy knit beanie by Plush.

Easy to re-create, and oh so (comfy) chic!
